We always see an increase in the number of hydro power enquiries throughout the winter. The rain and gushing streams seem to stimulate renewed interest. This year the substantial increase in electricity costs have massively increased the number of enquiries we are receiving to the point where it is difficult to keep up with timely responses.
Sadly, it seems that many of the good people out there who look at their stream and imagine how much power it can generate fail to read even some of the information in the Hydro section on this website before calling up and hoping I can spend an hour telling them all about how hydro works and even more importantly why the stream they are excitedly describing with its 300mm of head won't even keep just one lightbulb on.
We would love to hear from you, especially by email, but preferably after you have read all of the literature we have put out there, and on the PowerSpout.com website. Then we can have a meaningful conversation.
