We purchase our generators for off-grid applications from a very well respected and high quality UK manufacturer. After wiring in a 16kVA model today I was surprised to find that the polarity was reversed on the hard wired output terminals.
A quick call to the factory who were very concerned and advised where to look for the problem. Yes, it was a manufacturing issue and the cables into and out of the 63A MCB had been accidentally reversed.
Profuse apologies from the factory and a pledge to review their process control procedures.
Everyone can make mistakes but I wonder if I would have got that level of support from an Eastern European manufacturer?
