In 2015 we installed a 150kW solar ground mounted array on a farm in Mid Wales. Last week the remote monitoring indicated a fault on one of the Tripower inverters. We called the client who had not noticed the inverter was off-line and admitted that he never looked at his daily emailed monitoring report from the SMA Sunny Portal.
When I got to the site to see what was going on I was really dismayed to see the way the field in which the PV was sited had been allowed to become completely overgrown. I would imaginge that the potential yield was down between 25 and 30% as a result.
No explanation from the client other than to say they were always too busy.
